The Mid-America LIG of itSMF USA
will be hosting a event next Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Oak
Hills Country Club beginning at noon!
Speaking during the gathering
will be Rob Stroud, a 25 year IT veteran and self-proclaimed "IT
best practices evangelist". Rob was recently elected International
Vice President of ISACA as well as to the Board of Directors of
itSMF USA. He is recognized as an industry leader and speaks on a
variety of topics regularly at national and international
conferences. Rob is well-versed in ITIL v.3, having served as a
member of the ITIL Advisory Group as well as a Mentor and Reviewer
for some of the recently published ITIL v.3 volumes. He has also
authored several of his own titles on ITIL and COBIT. Rob's
presentation, “Can I have cheese with my Cheeseburger – a guide to
SLA Management and the Service Catalog”, is sure to a interesting
and informative session -- certainly one not to miss!

Mid America LIG Wins National Honors

15, 2008 – itSMF USA announces the Mid America Local Interested
Group (LIG) has been awarded the Rookie LIG of the Year for 2008.

Omaha Technology Commission and Steven Levy, IT Service Management
Consultant recently accepted the itSMF USA Rookie LIG award on
behalf of the Mid-America LIG. The Award was presented at the
Fusion08 Conference in San Francisco, California on September 9th,
2008. The prestigious National Award is given annually by itSMF
USA to a Local Interested Group that is less than 18 month old and
has made the most progress in support of the itSMF USA’s goals and
mission. The Mid-America LIG has tripled local membership and has
proved those local members with great networking opportunities along
with bringing local, regional and national speakers to the area.
“I am very pleased to accept such prominent award on behalf of all
the hard working IT Professional in the Mid-West. It was awesome to
go into the heart of Silicon Valley and bringing home this award to
Nebraska.” said Matt Scott itSMF USA Mid-America LIG President. “It
is an honor to accept this prestigious award on behalf of the hard
working professionals associated with itSMF USA Mid-America.
Bringing the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and its proven best
practices to Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa has been a
privilege. We are just getting started; we expect significant
growth in the next year and look forward to continuing to serve the
information services and business communities.” said Steven Levy,
itSMF USA Mid-America Vice-President.
The
Mid-America LIG’s next event
will be a Lunch and Learn, held at the Governor’s Mansion in
Lincoln, Nebraska on Wednesday, October 8th, from 11AM to 1PM. This
interactive session will explore various ways to tackle the
planning, design and adoption of IT Service Management while
maintaining critical IT services.
